‘The people here don’t want a work-life balance’: Living in London's founder house
We’re bringing more of the Silicon Valley hacker house vibes to London!
What is a hacker house? 5-6 serious founders living under the same roof, creating the future. 🚀
This is not for the weak. You will be pushed to be even better, to work harder, to grow faster. You and your housemates will lift one another up, being the support system for a journey that is full of euphoric highs and devastating lows. You will get through them all together.
Each house will be a hub of startup activity, not just for those living there but also other founders within London. Expect to host regular dinners, talks, and gatherings with other top founders and investors. Equally, it should be a sanctuary that you can escape to, get deep work done, and recover.
This is a commitment you’re making to yourself, to your company, and to your fellow housemates for a year of relentless building, growth, and kindness. You will come out the other side a better founder and a better human, with friends for life. You will also benefit from raising your profile and being a key part of the London Startup Ecosystem.
To get the most out of the experience, we aim to ensure everyone has raised at least $500k for their current/previous startup, have sufficient runway, and are focused on growth. If you’re still ideating, or a first-time founder who hasn’t raised yet, this may not be for you yet (unless you’re super impressive).
You also need to be a kind and humble human. You will give more than you take. You’re happy to be vulnerable and share the hard times just as you share the good times.
Of course, living together you must also be clean, tidy, and considerate. To think clearly and change the world, we need a clean living space to exist within. This means loading/emptying the dishwasher after your meals, cleaning any spills, generally being tidy. We also recommend getting a cleaner once per week for deeper cleaning in communal areas.
You should expect the monthly rent to be between £1,100-£1,400 per person, with bills + cleaning about £120 extra. It’s on the higher end so that you can find somewhere with a good communal coworking space (think of it as an investment in your success).
The minimum contract will be 12 months, however as long as you can find a replacement you’ll be good to move out sooner.

My role in this process is helping you find other great founders to live with. I’m not trying to get anything out of it other than more SF vibes here in London.
Each house is community-led. That means we group you with other top founders, and you take ownership of finding the house and moving in together. We will be here to support as you need.
